Having a wonderful day off here; I happily aquired a hydrangea, an azalia, a bromiliad, several pots of assorted ivys and philodendron, hyacinth and tulip bulbs for a whopping total of $3.29 (tax included).
Wow! That's great! Hydrangias alone in a small pot (teeny pot) cost 10 or 12 dollars the last time I looked. The rest of those are pricey too! You hit a gold mine in the garden - lol!
This lady works in the floral department of one of the local grocery store; she kindly sells me what is going to be tossed out - fills a buggy with pots and sticks a $2.99 sticker on them.
I figure the bulbs alone are worth it even if I can't get anything else to live.
She knew I was looking at the hydrangea last time I was in - that one was a gift.
